Acceptance is a short interactive Twine story that goes over the aspects of grief to help other understand that the grieving process is different for everyone. The project and story was fully developed by Rylan.
About the Project:
The original concept for this interactive story came up after learning of the Five Stages of Grief. The theory proposes a method to which all people in the world experience grief, going step by step to explain how each person is expected to act. Grief, however, is not something that deserves to have a set definition. Each person grieves differently. There shouldn't be a social definition of a path to follow for such an important and life-changing event. Grief should be an individual's experience, and that individual should react and recover differently. The story was written to help players understand that it's okay to grieve, and that each person will reach a different ending depending on the actions they take while grieving. In the end, it's up to each person to understand their own feelings, their own passions, their own limits. Everyone in this world is exceptionally unique and deserves to treat their own life differently from everyone else.
